Majah Hype Arrested and Charged in the US Again
Popular comedian Nigel Theron Joseph, more widely known as Majah Hype, is being detained in a Cobb County facility without bail.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Majah Hype was arrested on Sunday, February 19, 2023, and he remains almost a week later on the felony charges of ‘terroristic threats and acts’ and simple battery.
The detention center where Hype is being held is located in Georgia, USA (United States of America).
In 2020, Hype’s ex-girlfriend by the name of Latisha Kirby Farrell publicly accused the comedian of physical assault, thus it was unclear if the current charges laid against him were in relation to the incident.
He was arrested in 2021 for domestic violence and charged with similar offences of simple battery (a misdemeanour), terroristic threats and acts, and two felony counts of kidnapping.
Majah Hype was remanded in custody in January 2021 at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center in Canton, Georgia.
Hype is popular for his BET Digital series and his social media skits that feature relatable characters of everyday life.
