The man accused of carrying out the act is 30 year old Kareem Weeks who made a not guilty plea to Chief Parish Judge Chester Crooks for the charge of malicious destruction of property and cruelty to animals.

According to the reports from the Jamaica Star which initially published the story, the person who made the complaint said she saw Weeks accompanied by other men in her backyard at the time of the incident after which she saw them taking a cardboard relic from the doghouse, only to later douse the puppies with a flammable substance then proceed to lighting the cardboard and dropping it on the dogs.

It is understood that when questioned about the matter by the Police, Weeks let them know that it was his doghouse and that they should not have used it. It is reported that the man also stated that whosoever he made that argument for, had already killed a dog for him.

Weeks is now on bail for $100,000 and will return to court on June 10 with his lawyer Simone Robinson.
