Man Caught on Camera Brutally Beating His Baby Mother Tries to Explain His Actions – Listen Audio
Jovan Stephenson, the 32-year-old male who was caught on camera brutally beating the mother of his kids, has since been apprehended in the downtown Kingston area on Friday morning after being on the run for a few days. Following his guilty plea to assault, he will remain in custody until his next court appearance on Tuesday regarding an earlier case involving the victim seen in the video.

Since Wednesday, police launched a manhunt to capture him after a video allegedly showed him savagely beating a woman in Half Way Tree, St Andrew. While on the run the suspect recorded a voice note that he reportedly sent to one of his friends, which has since been leaked to multiple online platforms.
In the leaked voice note which was uploaded to Terro Don’s YouTube page, the 32-year-old could be heard stating, “Me just couldn’t bear fi know me affi go back a court again bredda, you zimi. An then gyal a come tell me bout, it nah go done unless me ge har 60 grand, weh me fi get if from?” Stephenson explained.
The graphic designer of a Kingston address went on to say in the leaked voice note that he was under a lot of pressure and lost control of the situation.

It is expected that Stephenson will be sentenced on March 30th for the heinous act captured on camera. According to Stephenson’s explanation in the voice note, he only lost control because he was under a lot of stress, but no apology was given for his actions.
