Masicka Showing Dominance Ahead of “New Project”

The most prolific deejay at the moment in Dancehall, Masicka is poised to continue his dominance on the local charts with his upcoming project. After initially getting a buzz with songs such as ‘Guh Haad and Done’ and ‘Born Killa’, The Portmore native finally got his first Dancehall hit in 2015 a track titled, ‘Dem Ago Dead.’
Since ‘Dem Ago Dead’, the deejay has consistently put out hits yearly for almost a decade with songs such as ‘Update’, ‘Leader’ featuring Dexta Daps, ‘I Wish’, ‘Top Form’ and his most popular track on YouTube ‘They Don’t Kno’ which has 44 million views.
Masicka’s latest released song, ‘Whites’ is currently number 2 on trending for music on Youtube in Jamaica, only topped by a collab he did with Teejay titled ‘Never Complain’. Number 3 on trending is ‘Get Up’ by Squash and the 4th hottest song on the chart is ‘Who Fi Stop We’, a title which points to his reign at the moment.
On the other hand, the popular Apple Music’s ‘Top 25: Kingston’ playlist consists of three songs from Masicka, with two of them in the top 8, ‘Whites’ is number one.
Another chart that Masicka is number one on is ‘Jamaica Apple Music Top Songs’ chart another chart/playlist that is updated daily. Masicka has 5 songs in the top 25.
On October 31, the Genahsyde artiste took to X and wrote, “New project Dec 4th. Best work yet.” Notably, Masicka released two major albums in the past, ‘438’ in 2021 and ‘G.O.K(Generation of Kings)’ in 2023, arguably the two best albums in Dancehall over the past decade.
