Miguel Coley Interested in Reggae Boyz Head Coach Job “I would love to coach the national team”

Former national assistant coach Miguel Coley is now showing interest in the currently vacant national head coach spot for the Jamaica senior men’s team. The young coach who has seen success locally and overseas, during a new interview outlined that should he be called for the position, he is ready to represent.

In the interview done with TVJ, the former Jamaica College coach also pointed out that he was the head coach of the Jamaica Olympic team amongst multiple Jamaica Premier League teams. One thing that sets Miguel Coley apart from many others locally, is the fact that he has his UEFA coaching Pro License.

“I would love to coach the national team one day,” he states before pointing out that he will always support other persons who get the job. He is interested in being a part of a “winning culture” even if he is not at the top.

“To be called as a local boy would be amazing,” while expressing his desire for the top job, he detailed that he is willing to work in several different capacities, mostly in ways that he would be able to share his knowledge with locals and to also help players get deals overseas.

He disclosed that he has had “discussion” with people at the Jamaica Football Federation(JFF), “I would love to be used much more… i feel that i am really really underused,” in Jamaica and the Caribbean.

He was asked whether or not he would be willing to ‘pack his bags’ and return “immediately” from the Middle East to be Reggae Boyz’s head coach, he said, “Definitely!… every body in the world want a Jamaica Job.”

Coley also gave his take on picking local and overseas talent for the national team, “It has to be balance, the mix is very very important… it has to have some form of mix,” he says after outlining that there needs to be a “criteria” because young players also need to be given a chance.
