Dancehall veteran Mr. Vegas took to the internet with a message regarding child molestation, following Queen Ifrica’s revelation about her father. Mr. Vegas stood in solidarity with the reggae artiste, stating that he faced a similar ordeal at the tender age of three.
“Years ago mi tell unuh weh my cousin dem do to me enuh and mi memba dat, from mi a three year old, mi memba dat. Bridget and Sharon. Mi memba dat,” he said during a live stream.
When speaking about Ifrica’s past, he stated, “It sad, and mi see how dis sister yah cudda hurt herself, mi see how other people cudda hurt themselves and mi glad seh she put her story forward. She actually a tell victims seh don’t hurt unuh self.”
The deejay emphasised that healing was needed and that the act of victimization needed to come to an end.
His message highlighted that Queen Ifrica opened up about her trauma to encourage rape victims to be brave, come forward, and tell their own stories.
