NBA Young Boy Remixes Skillibeng’s “Whap Whap”

After the release of his single “Whap Whap” Dancehall artiste Skillibeng was placed under much criticism for the simplicity of the lyrics which seemed to have also been evoking an aura of comedy around the song.

On his first tour of the UK, people’s perception of “Whap Whap” began to change when a video was released showing the deejay performing the song for a packed venue with the majority of those who were in the crowd singing with ‘Skilli’ line for line. The deejay even did an interview with Ras Kwame on his Reggae Recipe program where the entertainer gave reasons for doing a song with such a simple lyrical structure, by noting that people do not appreciate good music since he has done so much of the kind that has not been taken seriously.

Rapper NBA Young Boy; however, is showing his love for the song as he went to the extent of remixing it and was said to even have uploaded it on his youtube page before deleting it. The song was shared on the youtube page of Gazanation Vevo who seemed to have gotten a chance to take the song off the online media platform before the artiste removed it.

In the song, the rapper could be heard singing in the American accent while utilizing the Jamaican accent from time to time, and making full use of the “Whap Whap Whap Whap Whap Whap Whap” punchline at the perfect points in the track.

Skillibeng is also no stranger to having his songs remixed by international artistes as he has already had “Crocodile Teeth”, one of his biggest hits renditioned by female rapper Nicki Minaj.

NBA Young Boy otherwise known as ‘YoungBoy Never Broke Again’ is well known for the songs “Nevada”, “Make No Sense”, “Just Made a Play” and many more which have gained him much popularity in Trap music.
