New Curfew Times For Kingston, St. Andrew, Clarendon and St. Catherine!

Prime Minister of Jamaica, Andrew Holness, has announced that there will be a brand new curfew put in place due to the recent upsurge of the Corona Virus pandemic on the Island.

This is coming after a 2 day cumulative of 144 confirmed cases since Wednesday and Thursday as reported by the Ministry of Health. The new information was provided on Friday by the Prime Minister at a Jamaica house emergency briefing.

In the meeting, the “The most honorable BroGad” said that starting on August 22nd going into September 2nd the new curfew times will be from 7 pm in the evenings to 5 am for the parishes of Kingston, St. Andrew, Clarendon and St. Catherine.

Prime Minister Holness did also mentioned that Clarendon too is under close watch after 7 new cases had been discovered there.

Another Parish that the Prime Minister also highlighted was St. Thomas that recently saw their Covid-19 count jump to 100. St. Thomas too was under a time restriction from 7 pm to 5 am, this however has shifted to 11 pm to 5 am.

The Government has decided to put a firm hand on the keeping of funerals not allowing more than 15 people inclusive of the officials involved in the proceedings to attend the burial.

Church services have been declared a big no-no as it is said that the huge climb in numbers for the Parish of St.Thomas came as a result of funeral gatherings.

One additional Covid-19 death took place over the past 48 hours and now Jamaica has 1,129 cases with 788 recoveries and 15 persons passed away, See more in stats below.

Due to the rapid spread of the virus, the government says they are also looking to place restrictions on Water parks and beaches.
