Sunday morning, PNP Member of Parliament Phillip Paulwell took to social media to express how he’s coping and dealing with the latest reports that his daughter and her mother Toshyna Patterson were killed and body burnt.
He started off by saying, “The past few weeks have been extremely difficult for me as I grappled with the abduction of my daughter and her mother. I have prayed unceasingly for the safe return of Toshyna Patterson and my daughter Sarayah and I am heartbroken that the worst has happened. Nothing could have prepared me for the events that unfolded since last week Thursday and the alleged discoveries.
That anyone could murder a mother and an innocent baby is unimaginable and my heart is heavy with sadness.”
Paulwell who is also a Lawyer continued by stating, “I am praying for Toshyna’s family who I know are experiencing the unbearable grief and pain of losing their beloved daughter and grandaughter. As a human being, father, lawyer and legislator I am hoping that all who were involved are brought to Justice and punished to the fullest extent of the law. I have been in constant dialogue with the police and cooperated fully with the investigation. I cannot comment on the investigations nor matters before the court but I wish to thank the police for their tireless work.”
He concluded his statement by giving thanks to everyone who has been generous to him and his family via prayers, “I thank the many Jamaicans who have been generous in your prayers, your kind and thoughtful expressions of love, support, and solidarity for me and my family. Thank you.”
A month ago, during the search for 10-month-old Sarayah, and her mother, Toshyna Patterson, Phillip Paulwell who manages the Kingston East and Port Royal constituency shared a statement online, addressing the various rumours surrounding the mysterious disappearance of his daughter and her mother.
Paulwell disclosed that there was no lead in the investigation, giving the impression that he knew nothing about what took place and urged anyone with the slightest bit of information to help.
Patterson and her daughter went missing from their Gilmore Drive home in St. Andrew over a month ago on Saturday the 9th of September. The pair were last seen at their gate early the same morning.
The latest update is that American Navy petty officer Leoda Bradshaw, Paulwell’s partner was charged with the kidnapping and murder of Paulwell’s daughter and her mother, Bradshaw last appeared in court last Friday.
