The “Unruly Boss” Popcaan is lashing out against police closing down parties early in Jamaica.
In a tweet recently posted, Popcaan compared Jamaica’s entertainment industry to Ghana and Gambia. In the post, he is reminding Jamaicans that Jamaica is the musical capital and the culture needs to be embraced.
“Jamaica a the only place ina this world me see police a lock-off party certain way, Ghana me go club hopping until 8am! Gambia we say beh suba!!! We are the music capital my people don’t ever forget that, don’t fight our own culture,” says Popcaan.

Based on a press briefing done by health and wellness minister Dr Christopher Tufton back in January, the entertainment industry will not be opened anytime soon as a result of the spike of COVID-19 cases locally.
Tufton went on to conclude that the Government sees the entertainment industry as being important to the country, however, the reopening of schools was a top priority despite there being some risks.
According to some stakeholders, the ban on parties and events has caused the industry to lose approximately J$185 billion, with almost 100,000 jobs being directly or indirectly affected because of the move by the government.
