Quada Bashes Popcaan

A former member of the Unruly Camp, Quada, has bashed Popcaan for failing to support his team, despite his economic elevation.

The dancehall musician, who was formerly mentored by Popcaan before he left and became the CEO of record label Wellbad Entertainment, indicated that Popcaan was being selfish following the revelation that he was allegedly paid J$22.5 million ($150,000US) to headline the Kingston Music Festival last Sunday in Toronto, Canada.

This was revealed by a man named Dwayne Hines, who says he is a promoter of the concert. In an interview with Brandon Gonez, Mr Hines revealed that not only was Popcaan paid millions, but he was also provided with a private jet.

Following the interview, Quada, who is born Shacquelle Clarke, shared what he thought on Instagram about Popcaan not breaking bread with his crew after receiving such a large sum.

In his Instagram Story yesterday, he wrote, “How tf a ni**a can make 22M for a show and not even woulda share 100k with him crew weh a support him?”

In closing, he added the shrug emoji and three laughing emojis.

The Kingston Music Festival, staged at North York, has been receiving a lot of criticism after patrons and even Popcaan found it to be unorganized.

According to Urban Islandz, patrons said they paid $250 for VIP, but they wanted a refund because the fence separating VIP from everyone else was torn down. There were also complaints about the concert starting late and there not being any water or chasers available despite the scorching heat, which led to some patrons fainting.

Popcaan had said that the event organisers disappointed him and the “hardworking” patrons, and noted that he only performed because he did not want to disappoint his fans.

In his commentary, Popcaan said that his fans are upset because the “promotion ah f**kery” and told the organisers to ensure that everything is fixed the next time they book a “superstar”.

Mr Hines addressed Popcaan’s remarks, indicating that the Money Speak deejay was ungrateful for past bookings, including the fact that he “provided Popcaan with his first visa ever to enter into Canada.” While responding to Popcaan, he revealed what Popcaan was paid for the event and the jet he was provided with.

Based on a screenshot, Popcaan denied being provided with a jet.

“WHOEVER YOU BE…GUH S*CK YUH MUMMA P***Y!!! YOU PROVIDE JET FI WHO!! P***Y A ME GET ME OWN JET AND PAY FOR IT OUT OF MY POCKET. GUH S*CK OUT YUH MADA AND STOP TRY PRETTY UP THINGS LIKKLE F**,” Popcaan wrote in his IG Story.
