Reggae Boyz To Play USA Today!

The Jamaica Men football team is set to tackle the USA today in what will be the Reggae Boyz’s most anticipated match of the year so far. Jamaican who reached the finals of the Gold Cup at the last two tournaments are optimistic about their chances in making as far again, Especially with the addition of star youth player Leon Bailey.

The match will be played in Washington DC and will be Jamaicans’ final warm-up game before they head into the CONCACAF Gold Cup. Jamaica Reggae Boyz first match of the CONCACAF Gold Cup tournament will be on June 17, when they face Honduras at the National Stadium.

The Reggae Boyz will face El Salvador, Honduras and Curacao in Group C, the exception this time around his that Jamaica will get to play some matches on home soil which will only boost their confidence in making it to the last round of the tournament.

Speaking on the matter head coach Theodore Whitmore explains that “We are looking forward to it. The only difference in our group is Honduras. We know the El Salvador team, we know the Curacao team, we have the Honduras team to play at home and we are looking forward to that game. A positive result in that game should set us on our way into the El Salvador and Curacao games,” Whitmore said in an interview with CONCACAF.com.

Whitmore also added “Nothing is impossible. We just have to work hard and make sure we get in a decent preparation and then in the tournament, we’ll see what we can do,” said Whitmore.

The match is set to start 6pm Jamaica time.
