Shannon Sharpe Apologizes After Viral Instagram Live Sex-Tape Incident: “I’m embarrassed”

NFL Hall-of-Famer Shannon Sharpe who is at the center of a viral controversy after his Instagram account, @shannonsharpe84, accidentally went live, broadcasting audio from his sexual endeavour has spoken extensively on the incident.
During the unexpected live stream, viewers could hear moaning and growling sounds, sparking widespread speculation and garnering thousands of listeners.
Initially, a post on Sharpe’s Instagram Story claimed that the account had been hacked, an explanation that many fans accepted. However, Sharpe later admitted that his account had not been compromised. Instead, he revealed that the incident occurred after he threw his phone onto the bed and unknowingly activated Instagram Live.
According to Sharpe, he has never been on Instagram Live before, “I know I never flick myself on IG Live,” and it was a member of his team named “Jordan” who thankfully, ended the livestream.
Audio from the footage shared by one person on Twitter has received over 46 million views on X(formerly Twitter).
Sharpe went on to joke about the incident in his podcast released on YouTube with Ocho Sinco. He also mentioned that he cried about it, “I done cried enough… i ain’t got no more tears, i’m embarrassed,” he detailed before highlighting that he has let down a lot of people.
“I try not to put myself in a situation, i’m trying to be as private as i can and in trying to be private i made a huge…” He next joked about leaving his phone in the car in the future to prevent such incidents from happening again.
He revealed that he had an Apple phone and he might just have to go back to “flip phone”. However, he did not reveal the woman with whom he was having sex with. According to Sharpe, the stream could have gone on for at least 20 minutes if his assistant had not cut off the live.
“I was careless”.
