On Tuesday, one Jamaican excelled on the track in Hungry, Kishane Thompso, while another suffered possibly her greatest setback of the season. Shericka Jackson took part in the Women’s 200m race, however, close to the finish line she stopped with a grimacing face.

The two, amongst other Jamaican athletes, competed at the Gyulai Istvan Memorial, World Athletics Continental Tour-Gold meet in Szekesfehervar, Hungary.

She was clearly in the lead after the bend and was well on her way to finishing the race in first place when she slowed down and came to a complete stop before reaching the finish line with an unhappy look on her face.

As a result, all her competitors passed her, leaving her in last place. However, she was able to walk away from the incident in a slow fashion. On the other hand, Elaine Thompson-Herah suffered an injury on the track back in early June which caused her to be lifted off the track.

“I felt something uncomfortable as I began to push I still tried to go but it got worse… so I am awaiting professional advice moving forward.. thanks for your continuous support 🙏🏾,” Thompson-Herah wrote.

Currently, one can only speculate if Shericka suffered an injury on Tuesday and to what extent it may be. However, after Elaine’s injury, many Jamaicans are now concerned. Jackson is yet to comment on the matter.
