Following their fallout in 2019, dancehall artistes D’Angel and Spice reunited on Sunday at the International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA), performing their 2017 hit single No Worries.
No Worries and its uplifting message gained much fan support, but Spice and D’Angel’s subsequent feud cast a shadow over the single after the track was placed at the centre of the pair’s online spat. Spice suggested that she never heard from D’Angel again after their collaboration, which D’Angel had begged her to do as her career had hit a rough patch.
Labelling Spice a hypocrite, D’Angel said the truth was, in fact, the opposite of the Romping Shop singer’s story and that she had agreed to collaborate due to the poor relationships between female artistes. The pair’s tit-for-tat of personal attacks on social media eventually ceased, and it would appear that both entertainers are now ready to put the past behind them.
D’Angel and Spice were both slated to perform at IRAWMA’s 40th Anniversary staging at the Pegasus Hotel in Kingston yesterday. The artistes greeted each other during the event’s red carpet, which was hosted by D’Angel, and in photos, the pair can be seen sharing a happy embrace.
During D’Angel’s performance, the Stronger singer called out Spice, and the artistes reunited on stage for their No Worries performance, which D’Angel dubbed a history-making moment. D’Angel later noted on Instagram that their performance felt just like it had when they first recorded the song.
Spice recently expressed that she was thankful for D’Angel’s prayers during her medical emergency in the Dominican Republic last year.
The pair’s mutual friend and fellow artiste, Pamputtae, celebrated their reconciliation and noted that she was happy that she had not chosen sides. “Dis mi a talk bout unity mi happy mi Neva pick no side a peace and love mi show uno all wen the ppl dem a try mix mi up,” Pamputtae stated.
