The student, who is 12-year-old Jeffery Fitzgerald, was taken to Falmouth Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The tragedy has enraged the residents of Lilliput as they once again make urgent requests for pedestrian crossings and spotlights in the community. Being Lilliput is one of the most populated communities in the parish, residents are calling on the Government to intervene and save lives.

An upset resident gave her input on the matter, explaining that she has been living in the community for 20 years and throughout her years she has watched “too many people killed on this road by motorists, both locals and visitors”.

Subsequently, she pleaded to Prime Minister Andrew Holness, saying they were losing their children and family members to these accidents.
