The moment marks a historical moment for Jamaica since they have not made it to the Winter Olympics to compete in the Bobsleigh race in 24 years.

The first time the team ever qualified to take part in the unique Winter Olympics event was in the year 1988 which was made very iconic since the moment was turned into the movie “Cool Runnings”, which gained international recognition for the capturing of the Jamaican culture.

According to Turgott, regardless of training facilities shutting down due to the pandemic, his team has decided to still give practising their full efforts which saw them pushing a mini cooper around on the streets in Peterborough UK to maintain their physical agility and fitness, which he claims have been making people laugh since it brings back memories of the actual “Cool Runnings” movie.

For Turgott and the other members of the team, the order of the day is determination since 4 years ago they did not get the chance to compete in the Winter Olympics held in Pyeongchang due to them losing out on a qualifying position by one space, however, the athletes have made it known that there are no complaints even though equipment are lacking.
