Prosecutors brought the allegations before the Kingston and St. Andrew Parish Court on Tuesday, July 04, 2023. The two females and the male involved were between 16 and 17 at the time of the incident.

The victim’s age was with-held.

According to the Jamaica Star, the three are facing charges of grievous sexual assault, child abduction, aiding and abetting, and production, distribution, and possession of child pornography for the incident which took place in June 2022.

A delay in the Communication Forensic and Cybercrime Division (CFCD) report has halted the case’s progress, which has been on the court’s docket for a year.

A prosecutor revealed that during her conversation with the CFCD head, she learned that the file was not yet assigned.

Parish Judge Venise Blackstock-Murray expressed her dismay at the prosecutors who advised her that the case file was incomplete due to the missing experts’ analysis from the CFCD.

Additionally, no forensic report was available for the phone, which was received last December and should have been analyzed by experts.

Judge Murray reluctantly adjourned the matter after deeming the prosecutor’s speech unfortunate and unacceptable.

The three defendants had their bail extended and are to return to court on November 13, 2023. The three have not yet entered a plea.
