As Jamaica’s National Men’s team continue their 2026 World Cup Qualifiers campaign, the Jamaican premiere of the Reggae Boyz movie is scheduled for release on June 12.
The special free screening of the film is being presented by the German Embassy and will be screened at 10 Waterloo Road in Kingston at 7 p.m. The screening was announced on Wednesday on the movie’s official Instagram page, with the event’s organizers expressing that it was long overdue.
“We are so excited to FINALLY have our Jamaican premiere of THE REGGAE BOYZ! Too many years have gone by without being able to share this film the amazing people who made it happen in the first place,” the post stated.
The Reggae Boyz movie was originally released in May 2018 in Germany and follows the national team’s achievements on the field as well as their setbacks. The film features former players, local entertainers, coaches, football enthusiasts, and archived material and was scored by Jamaican actor/musician Sheldon Shepherd’s band the Nomadz.
In addition to the screening of the movie, the Jamaican premiere will also feature a question and answer segment with the film’s director Till Schauder. Reggae Boyz is currently available on Vimeo.
