Under-Aged Girls Attempting ‘Lick Challenge’
A viral video of two children trying to do the popular ‘Lick Challenge’ has caught the attention of many people. Shenseea’s Lick Challenge is very popular on social media as it requires adults to show their sexy dancing talents for a chance to win US$20,000.
The video is only 14 seconds, but it was too long for the eyes of many people, who said it was too disturbing to keep watching. In the video, the two girls are singing along to the raunchy track that is blasting in the background. One of the girls lifts her leg in the air as the other girl goes beneath her and performs a ‘licking’ action with her tongue.
On January 31, The Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA) reported that it is aware of the video, and it is being aided by the police to locate the girls. CPFSA went on to say that an investigation would commence determining how to handle the situation after the girls are located.
On February 5, Betty-Ann Blaine, Child Advocate, spoke about the issue and expressed that she felt “sick to her stomach”. Blaine reminded persons it was a crime to film and circulate videos of that nature. She called on the Government to take strict action against persons who indulge in these criminal acts.
Next, she urged parents and caregivers to monitor the types of content their children are watching and listening to.
Blaine also suggested contacting social media platforms and arranging that these types of content are blocked because they are damaging to the lives of children.
