“Dem a sing f*ckry but unno a play it,” were the words uttered by Dancehall veteran Beenie Man days ago at Boom Sundays to address in his view, the takeover of the Trap Dancehall music genre from the original Dancehall.
However, this comment did not sit well with the incarcerated deejay Vybz Kartel, as he rushed to the defence of the younger artistes and made some very damning remarks on his Instagram story seemingly aimed towards Beenie Man.

The “Teacha” started his point by highlighting that some men have been in the music industry for decades, yet they are competing with the younger generation. He then went on to question how have they helped to build the new artistes in the industry or how have they contributed to ensuring that the Dancehall genre endures despite the emergence of new music genres.

Vybz Kartel did not stop there, he posted another slide to mention that these same men who are competing with the younger generation hates their biological children and does nothing to uplift them. This post by the entertainer is speculated to be in reference to the recognition he has ensured to amass for his sons, Likkle Addi and Likkle Vybz who has since made a name for themselves in the Trap Dancehall music genre.

Vybz Kartel then posted a few other slides to his Instagram story highlighting two songs considered to be in the Trap Dancehall genre being sung by his sons titled “Magneato” and “Dollar Sign”.
