Vybz Kartel To Release New Collab With Popcaan ‘Dull Colour’

Dancehall teacher Vybz Kartel is set to release a new track with his top student Popcaan, after not putting out a collab in years, both had several collabs prior to Kartel’s incarceration.
This surprising collaboration has caught many off guard, given the previous rumours of animosity between the two artistes.
Vybz Kartel has set the new track which is titled “Dull Colour” to premiere on his youtube channel at midday on July 14, 2023.

Despite the song not going live for another 45 hours, fans of the artistes began pouring in their comments about the collaboration already.
@crestden8602 wrote, “This collab been long overdue I know we the fans couldn’t wait because it’s been so many years we haven’t get a collab from both father & son #dullcolour [fire emojis].”
@KIEFER-MOB commented, “Never expect this collab ya.”
Though not related by blood, Popcaan was introduced to the dancehall community by Vybz Kartel as a member of the Portmore Empire. The two had previously collaborated on several songs, including Clarks, which propelled Popcaan’s career to international stardom.
Other songs that featured the two artistes include Mind Dutty with Gaza Slim, We Never Fear Dem, and Empire Forever, which features Gaza Slim and Shawn Storm.
Popcaan recently expressed his support for Vybz Kartel after media outlets presented the news of his deteriorating health behind bars.
The singjay tweeted, “Free up Adidja Palmer!! Give that man another chance at life. Jah Jah know!”
Vybz Kartel is currently behind bars serving a life sentence for murder. He will seek to overthrow or lessen his life sentence when he appeals his case at the Privy Council in the United Kingdom in 2024.
