WATCH: Asafa and Sons ‘Competitive’ Race on Portland Beach in Fun Video

Retired sprinter Asafa Powell enjoyed a day at the beach in Portland with his family. The former 100m world record holder shared a fun video on Monday, showing him and his sons competing in a race.

At the start of the video, Asafa stands with two of his sons, Azhaf and Amieke along with another youngster, as they all take their starting positions. Moments later they are off running, Asafa, naturally, did not sprint at full speed, giving his sons an opportunity to lead at first.

One of his sons challenges him by taking the lead, however, at the finish line, Asafa dives onto the sand to secure what seems like a victory in the sandy race.

Additionally, during the comical race, Azhaf falls and seemingly gives up on the race until a woman rushes to his aid. As the video continues, she runs alongside him, motivating him to finish the race and run into his father’s arms.

The video was shared on Instagram with the caption, “Fun in the Portland sun šŸ‡ÆšŸ‡² itā€™s always competition.”
