PRESS RELEASE:
Downsound Entertainment and Reggae Sumfest are bringing back Irish & Chin’s World Clash for a 20th Anniversary Celebration to Montego Bay, which represents an historic moment in Jamaican Music History. For a decade, between 2001 and 2010, fans were blown away by the sounds and over-the-top performances staged by Irish & Chin with their Montego Bay…presenting the very best Sound Systems in the
World in fierce competition.
These events were the pinnacle of sound system events
in the world, featuring David Rodigan, Bass Odyssey,
Mighty Crown, Black Kat/Pink Panther, Black Blunt,
Heavy Hammer, KIlimanjaro, Rootsman, Code Red,
Ricky Trooper, and the list goes on and on.
Crowds of upwards of 8000-10,000 jammed the event
center at Pier One, year after year; then one day, it was
over because of some political problems. But now…it is coming back with a vengeance, with the help of the promotional assets and expertise of Downsound Entertainment and Reggae Sumfest who are bringing the greatest Sound System event back in a homecoming and celebration to the motherland of Reggae and Dancehall Music!
Josef Boganovich, CEO of Downsound Entertainment had this statement to say about it all, “We are looking forward
to the return of Irish & Chin’s World Clash to Montego Bay and making this one the biggest and best ever.”
Irish & Chin founder, Garfield “Chin” Bourne expressed his excitement with the following, “I can’t think of a better way
to celebrate 20 years of the World Clash brand! Returning to Jamaica and bringing World Clash to Reggae Sumfest is extremely exciting to me, as fans have been asking for this for many, many years. What a great homecoming!”
