9yo Found Dead In Car, Shortly After Being Abducted In St. James

As reported by the Jamaica Gleaner, the body of a 9-year-old boy was found in his mother’s motor car along the Fairfield main road in St. James earlier today.
Reports are that the boy and his mother were travelling in an Audi motor vehicle towards Downtown Montego Bay at about 9 AM when the mother who was driving slowed down the car to manoeuvre potholes. In this instance, she was attacked by two men.
The mother was struck in her face and taken out of the vehicle, the attackers then drove off with the boy inside.
The female reported the incident to the police who launched a search. The car was later found not too long after, abandoned with the young boy lifeless on the backseat.
Upon investigation, it was noticed that the boy’s throat was slashed.
He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. His mother was taken to the hospital.
The police are following multiple leads as they investigate the carjacking and motive for the murder.

On the other hand, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued level 4 and level 2 travel advisories for Jamaica which sees them strongly warning against travel into the country due to several factors including Covid-19 and violence which has plagued some areas.
