According to a popular news outlet, Tuscha Essed the Press Officer of the Netherlands Public Prosecution Service disclosed that both the prosecution and defense have appealed the lower court’s verdict, however, no date has been set for an appeal hearing as it is still in the early stages.

Within the Netherlands Court of Appeal, three senior judges are present whereby they re-examine the facts of the case and reach their conclusions.

During Jah Cure’s trial, prosecutors sought to convict him of attempted murder, however, he was acquitted and convicted of attempted manslaughter instead. A sentence of six years was imposed with credit for time served. The “Prison Walls” singer had also claimed to have acted in self-defense, but this was rejected by the court.

The singer is being represented by Dutch attorney-at-law, Jan-Hein Kuijpers.
