The Police Commissioner, Anthony Anderson, warned against potential gun salutes during the holiday season in an interview with Radio Jamaica News (RJR). General Anderson also states that gun salutes are illegal, and persons who engage in the practice can be charged under the new Firearm Act.
“You do not want to be using your gun, whether legal or illegal, in any way; just no gun salutes,” Commissioner Anderson highlighted.
