Popcaan Seemingly Proves that Unruly Fest was Permitted to End at 6 a.m. and Shows Over $2 Million was Paid to the Police

Following the chaotic end of Unruly Fest, which saw Popcaan giving the police an earful for shutting down the event, many people concluded that the Unruly Boss was acting mightier than the law.

The backlash that followed criticised the Unruly Fest founder for how he chastised the authorities instead of peacefully ending the show.

However, Popcaan has seemingly proven that his heated exchange with the police on December 23 in St. Thomas was warranted since the police had shut down the event earlier than was agreed upon. Initially, it was said that the event was scheduled to end at 4:00 a.m., but the officers permitted it to run an extra hour, resulting in Unruly Fest coming to an abrupt halt at 5:00 a.m.

Nevertheless, Popcaan contends that the event was permitted to end at “5pm to 6am!” so the police were not being lenient but troublesome. This was highlighted in a post that the 876Gud artiste reportedly published and then deleted, showing a document that allegedly depicted the closing time permitted for the event and the fees paid to the authorities.

According to the photo, permission was granted from the superintendent of police of the St Thomas Division that the event could start at 5:00 p.m. and end at 6:00 a.m., and a fee of $2,328,040 was paid.

The deejay also left a message for the critics who had something bad to say about his behaviour, telling them, “Everybody saying I’m disobeying the Law, Read what time the police gave me on this paper!! 5pm to 6am! Me nuh need fi explain myself to now one. So some people should just stfu!”
