Jamaica climbs in FIFA Rankings – In the latest update from FIFA’s worldwide rankings, Jamaica’s male national football team, affectionately known as the Reggae Boyz, made a marginal jump, swapping places with Slovenia.
As of April 4, 2024, the Jamaican team now proudly stands at 55th place, up from their previous 57th, demonstrating a tangible advancement in their global football standing.
This recent ascent in rankings comes on the heels of Jamaica‘s commendable performance in the Nations League, where they clinched third place. Jamaica’s 1-0 victory against Panama not only boosted their morale but also enhanced their position in the CONCACAF Rankings Index, moving them up from sixth to fifth place.
The Reggae Boyz‘s journey through FIFA rankings has been marked by notable milestones. Historically, Jamaica reached their zenith at 27th place, showcasing a period when they were a formidable force on the field. Conversely, their lowest dip was at 116th, a rank far in the past as the team continues to ascend.

On average, Jamaica has hovered around the 60th mark, but their latest achievements hint at a promising upward trajectory. on the other hand, Jamaica’s female national team, the Reggae Girlz holds a respectable 42nd place on the FIFA worldwide chart.
The excitement is palpable as the Reggae Boyz set their sights on the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers. Positioned in Group E alongside Guatemala, Dominica, the Dominican Republic, and the British Virgin Islands, Jamaica is a favourite to top the group.
Their journey begins on June 6, 2024, with a crucial match against the Dominican Republic, followed by a face-off with Dominica on June 9.
