The post from Richards may put an end to the speculations as to why he did not play for Jamaica in recent months. Without giving clear details, Craig Butler alluded to there being an issue with the player, during his most recent fallout with the JFF.

Text messages leaked by Butler showed himself telling Reggae Boyz’ former head coach, Heimir Hallgrímsson, that “Chelsea is giving us a hard time,” and “Chelsea is threatening to pull contract etc”. In a recent interview, it was also revealed that Whisper had a niggling injury.

Richards who scored 5 goals in 8 matches for Chelsea under 21 in 2024 is expected to be out of football for a reported 6 to 8 weeks following the surgery.
