Alleged Klansman Member Andre Smith Shot and Killed

Andre Smith, the lone defendant in the Klansman gang trial who was free on bond, was fatally shot by armed men on a motorcycle.

Reports from the Jamaica Observer state that Smith was ambushed on Wednesday when he was heading home from work in Kingston by gunmen riding a motorcycle.

Smith was rushed to the hospital, where he died on Thursday from his gunshot wounds.

Smith, who goes by the alias “Bolo”, was facing charges in connection with a 2017 double murder and being a part of a criminal organisation.

He was one of the 28 alleged members of the infamous St Catherine-based gang on trial.

Due to insufficient evidence, five of the initial 33 defendants who were on trial were released.
