After narrowly escaping an abduction attempt during a recent training session, celebrity fitness trainer Patrice White has shared her story to warn others to be on high alert.
White, who is known for training celebrities such as dancehall artiste Beenie Man, is currently training for a Spartan Trifecta Weekend and a marathon. According to White, she was almost abducted during one of her training runs for her upcoming races this week.
White highlighted the fact that she was not running extremely early in the morning, nor was she running in a secluded area. White shared that she was running along a main road and had initially started her session with other runners but eventually outpaced them as she had to return home soon.
The fitness coach noted that she always stays alert and aware of her surroundings during her runs, especially when training in Jamaica. White stated that during her session, a car approaching in her direction suddenly stopped, and a man in pink attire jumped out and began chasing her.
White said she ran and began to scream frantically. The man stopped chasing her and returned to the vehicle, and he and his accomplice drove off.
Still traumatised by the incident, White cautioned her fellow runners to be careful and aware of their surroundings. White has since received an outpouring of support from local members of the entertainment fraternity, with producer Skatta Burrell calling for an end to the normalising of such incidents.
