In a surprising turn of events, popular dancehall artiste and producer Sikka Rymes has been allegedly sentenced to three and a half years in prison for domestic violence.
The news broke through a social media post where an individual claiming to be the artiste’s wife shared a story with a popular promotion page, revealing the sentencing.
The individual, whose identity has not been officially confirmed wrote, “My soon to be ex-husband @sikka_rymes got sentenced to 3.5 years in prison for domestic violence.”

The post continued with the woman highlighting Jamaican men’s behaviour at home and abroad. The person expressed the view that the punishment handed down to Sikka Rymes should serve as a stark example for Jamaican men who might believe they can escape accountability for their abusive actions while living overseas, just as they might sometimes manage to do in Jamaica.
Furthermore, the post hinted at a deeper issue, suggesting that perhaps in Jamaica, individuals can evade serious consequences even for severe transgressions. However, she stated that it is different for foreign jurisdictions.
