DHQ Carlene Mourns the DEATH of Her Sister “Pinky”

Jamaica’s most popular female dancer Carlene Smith who is more commonly known as Dancehall Queen Carlene took to social media on Sunday to announce the passing of her sister Doreen ‘Pinky’ Prendergast.
As reported by Calene in the video posted online, Pinky passed away on Saturday, while at a hospital in New York.
Pinky was known to be a popular entertainer in the 1990s. As expressed by Carlene, “Pinky was a party animal, she loved the dancehall. If it wasn’t for Pinky I would not be who I was then and the woman I am now.” In tears, Carlene recalls her older sister taking her to events to dance from she was as young as 14 years old.
She outlined that Pinky made her who she is today, saying, “Pinky was my biggest supporter. She made me who I am in the dancehall and I will always thank her for it. Pinky and I spoke every day, and when she got sick, we would talk five and six times per day. Even in pain, Pinky kept her sense of humour and would turn my tears into laughter.”
The grieving sister also went on to outline that Pinky’s cancer issue did not start recently for it has been an issue for a while prior to her death. Pinky, the older sister to Carlene was fighting cancer for some time and back in April, Beenie Man tried valiantly to help raise funds to offset her high medical expenses.

Since the announcement on Instagram, several entertainers, mainly females have expressed their heartfelt regret towards the sad news.
D’Angel commented, “I’m just seeing this sis I was traveling. Oh my my deepest and sincere condolences to you and the family pinky fight But God knows best I pray for comfort at the time for you Carlene. I know how much your sister means to you 🤗 sending my love to you girl you did everything you good.”
While D.I. Danielle stated, “.Can’t believe Pinky gone but God knows when we enter this world and when we leave he’s the author of all our lives Pinky is a legend always will be remembered hold firm cuz ❤️you the strongest soilders endure the hardest battles in God we trust”
