The RIU Jamaica hotel worker who is in the viral fighting video that’s currently circulating online is regarded as a “very good worker” by the Communications manager at RIU Jamaica Marc Miralles Pons.
The footage that has drawn the attention of the nation is still being reviewed and the female worker who has been at the hotel for almost a decade, 9 years, will need to explain her side of the story at an internal meeting which is scheduled for next Thursday.
While the public is aware that the incident took place in Montego Bay, it’s unclear on which day it took place and the names of the individuals involved.
Pons who spoke to The Gleaner stated, “We are following our internal protocols, following the premise of not leaving our workers alone in this type of situation. Next Thursday we will have an internal meeting with her to let her explain to us her version regarding what happened.”
For the most part, Jamaicans have been on the side of the hotel worker, outlining that the guest was wrong to throw liquid on the worker in the first place.
