Man Kidnaps and Assaults Woman For Removing Tattoo of His Name in Clarendon

A 46-year-old Clarendon taxi driver was arrested and charged after he assaulted and kidnapped the mother of his child over a tattoo on Wednesday, September 7. According to the police statement, the incident unfolded around 5:00 p.m. when Leon “Nose” Reid of Phase 3 Havanna Heights went to the woman’s workplace. An argument broke out between the two regarding a tattoo of his name she had removed. Reid allegedly hit her repeatedly in the face and then used threats to force her inside his car.
After she entered the vehicle, Reid drove off, taking her to his house, and she was later rescued by the police, who were made aware of the situation by a relative. Reid escaped the scene but was detained on Friday, September 9, during a special operation.
He was subsequently charged with abduction and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Reid must appear before Clarendon Parish Court on September 15.
