Dancehall veteran Mr. Vegas organised a demonstration in Washington DC outside the Jamaican Embassy to celebrate Brand Jamaica. The demonstration appears to be a counteraction to the alleged People’s National Party-led rally against crime and violence in Jamaica.

According to a video posted by Mr. Vegas, representatives of the PNP were scheduled to protest at the Jamaican Embassy at 9:00 a.m., while Mr. Vegas’ demonstration was slated to begin at 8:00 a.m. It was also noted that Mr. Vegas was motivated to represent all the good aspects of Jamaica.

“Di Anti-Jamaican dem ova desso,” he said, pointing across the street to the other group. “De have dem corruption sign up already,” he stated, adding that the next group did not want him to protest, but he received permission from the police.
