Reggae Boyz Tackles Honduras Tonight in Kingston

The Jamaica Reggae Boyz are set to tackle Honduras tonight at 8:30pm local time in the first match of the much anticipated Gold Cup tournament, the match will be played at the national stadioum in Kingston.

After much back and forth star youth player Leon Bailey is expected to play for Jamaica senior team the first time after not playing in the last match vs USA.

Speaking on Bailey Jamaica’s head coach Whitmore states “We can’t question the quality that he has brought to the Jamaica team. He is here to play, and he is comfortable. We have no issue where Leon is concerned,” he told STAR Sports. ”

Leon earlier pledges to give is all for his homeland Jamaica “My Dream As a boy I dreamt of one day wearing the national colors of my country Jamaica. My coach fed that dream every day. We worked diligently, sometimes in rain, snow and cold against all odds for that chance, that one chance that I could stand on the field with my countryman and represent our families, our brothers and sisters on the field of play and win. We never gave up believing in Jamaica. I am so happy to get the chance to make my country happy and fight for victory. I pledge my heart forever to serve with humble pride. This shining homeland….” he concluded.

Coach Whitmore who’s optimistic about tonight’s match stated “The home advantage should give some boost to us. If we can get all three points, the momentum will take us into the El Salvador and Curacao games” he added

A couple weeks ago Jamaica managed to outscore the USA in Washington DC to win their final friendly match before the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Jamaica will also face El Salvador and Curasoa in upcoming group C encounters.

The Reggae boyz are currently ranked at 54th in the world.
