Rygin King Paralyzed – Reminds Us To “Stand Firm Inna Circumstances” – Watch Video
Dancehall recording artiste Rygin King announced that he has been paralyzed since 2020 which resulted from getting shot three times in the parish of Westmoreland. He is currently on the road to recovery and has high hopes that he will be able to walk again someday.
The “Tuff” entertainer did an exclusive interview with the Jamaica Observer in which he shared shocking details for the first time about the life-threatening ordeal. He mentioned that he has undergone multiple surgeries and recently started therapy sessions to assist with getting him back on his feet.
Despite this, he says that he is not defeated, yet is even more motivated and empowered to overcome the situation. He also said that he continues to remain positive and affirms that this is just all part of God’s plan. Additionally, the entertainer disclosed that his income has not been affected given the circumstance, as funds received from fans streaming his music have kept him afloat.
On Monday Ryging King took to social media to show his fans how he moves around nowadays, he apologized to them for being “so Quite about it” he also announced that he will be releasing a new album titled “THERAPY” which will be available for pre-order August 5.

Matthew Smith, popularly known as Rygin King is a ‘Trap Dancehall’ artiste from Montego Bay. He was reportedly shot in the Struie District in Westmoreland while travelling with his baby mother, 28-year-old Sashalee Blackwood and his two children.
He was subsequently rushed to the Savanna-la-Mar hospital in the parish where he underwent emergency surgery, his baby mother, however, succumbed to the injuries. Another man who is said to be an upcoming artiste was shot in the leg.
The gunmen escaped and have not been apprehended.
