Vybz Kartel Reveals Why Vanessa Bling Did Not Release This Song He Wrote for Her

Minutes into his performance in Tortola, British Virgin Islands, Vybz Kartel paused his set to explain why he recorded a song he initially wrote for ‘Gaza Slim’ aka Vanessa Bling. The revelation was done right after he performed ‘Like Christmas’, a song he did with Sheba.

Vybz Kartel was about to perform ‘Pretty Little Girl’ when he called on MC Nuffy and asked if he knows how the song was made, Nuffy said “tell mi”.

Kartel’s response was, “Fun fact, I wrote this song for Gaza Slim and at the time she was going through some emotional whatever so she couldn’t get to do it. What i’m saying is, she was watching the dick, so me sing it,” said the deejay before he proceeded to sing the song.

Notably, it’s the first time that Vybz Kartel whose birth name is Adidja Azim Palmer has told such a story, leaving one to wonder, how many other songs the 49 year old wrote for others in the past and turned around releasing for himself.

After telling the intriguing story, Vybz Kartel went on to perform for over an hour, reeling off back to back hit songs. His sons, Likkle Addi and Likkle Vybz also joined him on stage at one point. Jah Vinci and Kartel performing several of their collaborations was also a highlight of the night.

While Lisa Hyper and Sheba has been vocal about their affair with Vybz Kartel, over the years, Vanessa Bling has been less vocal about the romance that also caused several internal feuds amongst female artistes in the Gaza Empire group.
