Woman Dies after Flat-Bridge Accident

Reports are that two vehicles collided along the Bog Walk main road in St. Catherine leaving a 66-year-old female dead. The elderly lady was allegedly trying to overtake a truck when her vehicle went off the road into Rio Cobre.

Minutes after 10 AM both vehicles were reportedly travelling in the Bag Walk direction when the lady did the unthinkable.

Shortly after the accident, two men can be seen in a video that has since gone viral trying to rescue her from the motor vehicle she was pinned down in under the water however she was not removed from the vehicle in time “See all har hand black already” a woman states as the men tried their best while Police officers and Firemen look onwards..

At one point we hear one of the two men shout out “him dead” after which the onlookers express their surprise that a woman was driving in the manner she did “then a one woman a drive suh…” states one person while another said “yuh have some woman a drive harder than man enuh”.

It’s unclear how longer she was trapped in the vehicle under water.

She is from Linstead in the parish.
