According to court documents, the lawsuit was filed in June of 2022 and claims that Mukhlis collected more than £325,000 of royalties which equates to approximately JMD 59,899,567.52 for the Jamaican entertainer, which to date, he has yet to receive.

Julian Jones-Griffith, former manager of Bounty Killer was the one who discovered this discrepancy, which led to him hiring lawyers in both the United States (US) and United Kingdom (UK) to investigate. Their investigation revealed the hefty amount owing in royalties over the years.

The “Five Star General” also alleges in court documents that Mukhlis made a “fraudulent misrepresentation” when the agreement was made that authorized the record owner to collect a 15% commission for the royalties collected on his behalf. Because of this, the entertainer is requesting that this agreement be revoked in the courts.

Additionally, it is being requested that an order be enforced from the High Court of Justice to have Mukhlis and Jamdown Music Limited give a full account of the royalties collected and compensate him for such. He is also seeking for interest to be paid over the 20 years and the reimbursement of legal costs.

The veteran deejay’s real name is Rodney Basil Price, who is considered to be one of the most aggressive Dancehall stars of the ’90s and lyricists of all time. He is known for songs such as, ‘Blood Clxxt’, ‘It’s a Party’, ‘Street Smart‘, and ‘No Doubt’ among many others.
