Leon Bailey Scores Again and Grabs Assist For Aston Villa In UEFA Europa Conference League 4-1 Win

Leon Bailey picked up where he left off from his last match day for Aston Villa when he scored a beauty in a 4-1 win, as he continued his goal-scoring prowess to hand Villa an early 13-minute lead in their UEFA Europa Conference League match against Dutch team AZ Alkmaar.

The pacy winger picked up a ball in a difficult angle from the opposition goal following some great team play from the English-based team; Bailey hit a pile driver off his trusted right foot to squeeze the ball into the back of the net from a tight angle.

Newcomer to the Villa roster Yuri Tielemans, ten minutes later, got Villa’s second courtesy of a super pass from Villa captain McGinn. The Belgium midfielder squeezed the ball through the legs of the on-rushing AZ goalkeeper to put Villa in the driver’s seat.

Minutes into the second half, Leon Bailey was again instrumental in another goal for Villa. The winger was through on goal, following Tieleman’s well-weighted through-ball; Bailey left an AZ defender for dead and reeled off a curler, which the goalkeeper saved, but it fell straight at Watkins’s feet for a simple finish.

Less than five later, Bailey was on the move again, this occasion down the right wing as he displayed his brutal pace and quick feet before playing in a dangerous low cross, finished by McGinn with a clever touch to give Villa a 4-0 lead.

Az Alkmaar grabbed a consolation goal in the 65th minute courtesy of debutant Ibrahim. That was the only moment worth celebrating the home team had throughout the 90 minutes as the game ended 4-1.
