Olympic 100m silver medalist Kishane Thompson, two days after the final, talks about the experience of the Paris Games and being “the first Jamaican to medal since Usain Bolt” as a male over the distance.
In the interview, published on Tuesday by CITIUS MAG, Thompson highlights the support he has been getting worldwide, especially from Jamaicans, “The fact that it’s mah first time, the love have been phenomenal, even before i medal,” he stated.
According to Thompson, “the competition level” makes the Olympics stand out from previous competitions that he has been to.
He was asked what he’s looking forward to the most, after the Olympics, while the Jamaican stated that he does not have one particular goal, he detailed that he’s looking to “finish my season strong, going out with a bang!”
He was next asked about ‘going faster’, to which he replied, stating, “it’s a matter of me executing”, a phrase that he has been using for a while in his interviews, “if i don’t execute the results won’t come,” he outlines.
According to the fastest man this year with a time of 9.77, he will be taking on the 200m distance soon and points to his past injuries being the reason for the delay. “Honestly the 200, I just didn’t get to run it as yet… i was plagued with injuries, so i just didn’t get the chance… you guys soon will be seeing me there,” he stated.
