Vybz Kartel’s sons, Likkle Addi and Likkle Vybz, are well-known to the public, with the young artistes collaborating with their father on multiple songs. However, not much is known about his other children, such as his daughter, Adi’Anna Palmer.
Adi’Anna is now formally introducing herself to the world, and the 17-year-old released an introductory video on her YouTube channel on Sunday. A St. Ann native by birth, Addi’Anna shared that she moved to Kingston when she was 6.
She also revealed that her name at birth was not initially inspired by her father’s name, Adidja. According to Adi’Anna, she was initially named Shazay, but it was changed when she was about 3 months old.
During her question-and-answer video, Adi’Anna talked about her love of music, especially Dancehall. Sharing that her father is her favourite artiste, Adi’Anna explained that she loves everything about him as a deejay and as a regular person, aside from his music.
“My favourite genre right now is probably Dancehall, but I have a very diverse music taste… And my favourite artiste is Vybz Kartel. I’m not just saying that. Actually, that’s genuinely my favourite artiste. He’s been my favourite artiste for some time now. I love the music, I love the vibes, I love everything about the artiste, and the person,” Adi’Anna said.
As she shared more about her life, Adi’Anna described herself as outgoing and strong-minded, opinionated, and conversational. According to the teen, she is not a very shy person, though many believe so.
Adi’Anna went on to talk about her plans for her future, and unlike her older brothers, she will not pursue a career in music. The former Wolmer’s Girls High School student will instead pursue a career in medicine.
“… My dream career is hands down surgery… I am not 100% sure which type of surgery I want to go into, but I definitely want to do surgery. I’ve always wanted a career in medicine,” Adi’Anna said.
Following the release of her first YouTube video yesterday, Adi’Anna’s parents have been showing their support online. Her father shared a clip from her video on his Instagram page with his over 3 million followers, and her mother, Sherika Todd, expressed how proud she is in the comment section of her video.
“Mommy is soooooooo proud of you my beautiful baby girl. The sky is definitely the limit. As you go thru this world I pray God keep His arms wrapped around you,” Todd wrote.
