“How much fi stand outside the stadium?”: Jamaicans React to Kartel’s Concert Ticket Prices
On the heels of the ticket prices being revealed for Vybz Kartel’s Freedom Street Concert, many Jamaicans are complaining about the high prices with a few calling for the lineup to warrant to charge. Others believe the prices are reasonable with the $10, 000 Cycle Track Pod sounding most appealing.
While it’s early times and most people would be able to save and purchase a ticket within their budget, the complaints are increasing as hours go by about the high ticket prices to watch Vybz Kartel perform for the first time after his prison release.
The ticket prices which were revealed on Friday ranges from $125 USD to $10, 000 USD.
Bleachers will be the most affordable at $125 USD, Grandstand tickets will go for $300 USD, Infield tickets will go for $400 USD, and Cycle Track Pods tickets will go for $10, 000 USD.
One Gaza fan’s reaction to Vybz Kartel’s post about the Tickets on Instagram was, “Time fi sell me soul,” another said, “IF YOU CANT AFFORD IT PLEASE STAY HOME! Gaza fans wealthy tell dem Nuh,” and another said, “Kartel is the Michael Jackson of the Caribbean. These are good prices!”
On the other hand, one who did not like the figures wrote, “Teacher memba ya fi look pon d life wee Living nd rn like uh cya See a blct,” another asked, “A coulda wha cause dis? Fi go a Stadium?” and another person asked, “So how much fi stand outside the stadium? Cause mi might nuh can guh in.”

With regards to the yet-to-be-released lineup, one person stated that it’s a “Total disrespect” to release tickets before the lineup.
