Match day-December 13, 2020.
Leverkusen is known to win most of the matches they play on a Sunday, their game vs Hoffenheim earlier today was no different, the latter was sent packing after a 4-1 dismissal.
Leon Bailey scored twice to lead Leverkusen to the top of the league, Wirtz (17-year-old prodigy) and Argentine center-forward Alairo “who recently returned” from injury were the other scorers. Hoffenheim ended the game with 9 outfield players.
It’s not comfortable at the top but they’ll want to remain in the driver’s seat for as long as possible, it’s hard to tell how things will pan out in the end as it’s early days and Leverkusen have a history of showing inconsistency over the years, so only time and performances will tell.
