West Indies ICC World Cup Tournament campaign will kick off against Pakistan

[Sharingbuttons]The West Indies will compete against Pakistan when their campaign opens at 2019 ICC World Cup in England at Trent Bridge on the 31st of May.

There will be a return to the format they used in 1992 and only 10 teams will play against each other in the league stage and only the top 4 will advance to the semi-finals. The tournament will last for 46 days and games will be played in 11 venues.

It all begins when England faces South Africa at the oval on the 30th of May. The West Indies will face Australia on June 6, after they play against the Pakistanis a day after the tournament begins. They will play against South Africa on June 10 and on June 14 they will be playing against England.

They are the former two-time champions will face Bangladesh on June 17, New Zealand on June 22, India on June 27, Sri Lanka on July 1 and Afghanistan on July 4;

After that Australia will start their title defense against the qualifiers, Afghanistan in Bristo under the lights on June 2.

The match will be one of seven day-night contests planned for the tournament. There will also be a repeat of the 2015 final between the Australians and the New Zealanders at Lords on June 29.
The semifinals are scheduled to be played on July 9 in Manchester and on Birmingham on July 11, the finals will be played in Lords on July 14.
Cardiff, Chester-le-Street, Southampton, Trent Bridge, Bristol, Old Trafford, Edgbaston, the Oval, Lords, Taunton, and Headingley are the 11 venues where the tournament will be hosted.
