Jamaica’s Passport is 63rd Most Powerful in the World
Jamaica’s passport has seen a positive surge in the number of countries it can access in 2023. Jamaicans can travel visa-free to 88 out of 227 countries globally.
The country is now ranked 63rd among the world’s most powerful passports, moving up four spaces from last year’s 65th ranking.
The 2023 Henley Passport Index report reveals that Jamaicans can travel to countries/territories such as the Dominican Republic, Fiji, Palestine, South Africa, and Russia using only passports.

Barbados is currently the highest-ranked country in the Caribbean region, securing the 21st spot on the list. Last year they were ranked 23rd. Barbadians benefit from visa-free access to 163 countries, including France, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
Following closely behind are the Bahamas at 23rd, St. Kitts & Nevis at 24th, and St. Vincent & the Grenadines, currently holding the 25th spot on the list.

At the pinnacle of the index, Singapore has the most powerful passport globally, granting visa-free entry to an astounding 192 countries, including the USA and the UK.
Singapore has overtaken last year’s titleholder, Japan, which now shares a joint third position with access to 189 countries. Japan had the most powerful passport in the world for five consecutive years before this.
Germany, Italy, and Spain are tied for second place in terms of passport power, with each country having access to 190 countries.

On the other end of the spectrum, Afghanistan 104, Iraq 103, and Syria 102 have the weakest passports for travel, having limited access to 27, 29, and 30 countries, respectively.
