Marion Hall Removes GoFundMe Fundraiser Posts After Backlash

Gospel Singer and minister Marion Hall has removed her social media posts endorsing her GoFundMe campaign after receiving backlash for running the massive US$2 million fundraiser to build her dream church.
Hall launched her GoFundMe fundraiser on August 10, later reaching out to her supporters on social media as she had found a location to build her church, the Holy Ghost Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ. The former dancehall artiste requested if there was anyone able to donate a portion of the money, $1 million, to get them started.
Hall has since returned to social media following the backlash associated with the fundraiser to address the situation and has deleted her previous posts on Instagram. The Mi Soon Alright singer shared on Thursday that she had removed the post because of the remarks made by her “own people” about her requests for money to build Holy Ghost Pentecostal.
In her brief statement, which captioned a screenshot from the GoFundMe campaign, Hall said she only had one thing to say to her critics.
“I also have a message for the people who been criticizing me about my goals and vision for the ministry God gave me. Here it is. WATCH GOD, DO IT,” Hall wrote.
The controversial minister may have her critics, but she also has a loyal group of supporters of her ministry, one of whom voiced their support in the comment section.
“… all in the church they bad mind, mek dem kiss out yuh Bible and look how God a go work it out,” the supporter stated.
Following its launch last week, Hall’s fundraiser has raised a total of $220 from six donors. Hall previously received public backlash for requesting aid to purchase Bibles for Reggae Sumfest.
